Business programme architecture for the Peoples of Russia International Week published

A new website for the Peoples of Russia International Week has been launched. It will provide the latest information on the programme, participants, media accreditation, and other events taking place during the Week, as well as news on preparations and remarks by speakers. 

The website now features the architecture of the International Week’s business programme. Its central theme is “Solidarity between States through the Unity of Peoples and Traditional Values”. The Peoples of Russia International Week is held annually in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 382 of 1 June 2026, which declared 2026 the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia. The International Week is coordinated by the Office of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, with the Roscongress Foundation acting as its operator. 

“The programme of the Peoples of Russia International Week is intended to demonstrate Russia’s openness to the whole world and highlight projects aimed at fostering inter-ethnic dialogue that brings people together, respecting cultural diversity, and joining forces to ensure the well-being and security of every person, regardless of nationality. Holding an event on this scale takes on added significance in the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia,” noted Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council.

The business programme of the Peoples of Russia International Week is built around four tracks: “Unity of Peoples”, “Historical Memory and Continuity between Generations”, “Service to the Fatherland and Responsibility for Its Future”, and “A Strong Family”. The panel sessions will focus on implementing state ethnic policy, preserving historical memory, service to the Fatherland, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Particular attention will be paid to preserving the culture and traditions of the peoples of Russia and to the unity of the country’s multi-ethnic population as expressed in every sphere of life.  

“The central theme of the business programme of the Peoples of Russia International Week fully reflects our country’s strategic role as a space for dialogue between civilizations, where the unity of peoples and a commitment to traditional values become the foundation for multilateral cooperation. During the Week, this idea will be explored through the business programme, exhibition projects, and youth tracks. Formats like these make it possible not merely to declare values but to demonstrate their practical significance through joint investment initiatives, educational exchanges, and cultural partnerships. Discussions on preserving sovereignty in the sphere of values and shaping new models of trust between states amid global transformation are particularly important. Beyond the business programme, guests of the International Week can look forward to a varied programme of cultural, sporting, exhibition, and film events,” emphasized Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation. 

The business programme will begin with the ceremonial opening of the Peoples of Russia International Week and the All-Russian Forum of National Unity. Key events will include the plenary sessions of the Peoples of Russia International Week and the All-Russian Forum of National Unity, as well as the All-Russian Workshop Meeting on the Implementation of State Ethnic Policy and Inter-Ethnic Relations. The central venue for the events will be the World Trade Center Moscow. 

The Week will also feature a number of youth and educational events, including a national educational campaign the 11th Big Ethnographic Dictation, as well as ceremonies honouring the winners of the 10th Russian Civilization International Photo Competition, and the laureates of the SMIrotvorets National Competition. 

As part of the educational and youth programmes, the International Week will host panel sessions on developing and promoting Russian cinema across the Eurasian space, along with discussions on “Russian Business with an International Flavour: Opportunities for Foreign Entrepreneurs in Russia”, “Building Interest in Russian History through Modern Interactive Formats”, “Russia and China: Youth Sport as a Space of Trust”, “Protecting Future Generations from the Negative Influence of Western Gaming Content”, and “Promoting Spiritual and Moral Values through Games”. The Diamond Butterfly film award will also be announced. 

The Peoples of Russia International Week lays a long-term foundation for strengthening the multi-ethnic unity of the country and highlighting its distinctive civilizational model. Russia today is home to more than 190 peoples and ethnic groups, each preserving its own identity while forming part of a sovereign state. The International Week contributes to preserving traditions and cultural and historical heritage and creates opportunities for direct dialogue between countries that share common spiritual and moral values. 

A Joint Interdepartmental Press Centre of the Peoples of Russia International Week is being established to keep the media promptly informed.
